... you know you do. The Selby goes there.

...and speaking of Erin and her jewelry collection Lowluv, it happens to look exactly like the jewelry collection of Bliss Lau, whose necklace she purchased before the creation of her own collection. Moreover, in the Nylon spread which featured her modeling some of her jewelry is actually the Bliss Lau necklace and not her own. Scandal. Discuss.

Thats rather naughty!(the jewellery scandal)Mind you, I love her boots and her apartment is soo spacious, lucky girl!
The body chain thing really upsets me! It is just so wrong. The artist deserves the credit, it is hard enough already for them to make a living and then someone does something sneaky like this. I can not admire any aspect of Erin Wasson under these conditions...
I love that website. It's cool to see what other people's places look like ;)
there is a fine line between inspiration and theft.
Hey,
I absolutely love your blog. Your style of writing and use of creativity makes your blog a must-read for me! I especially like the personal touches you had to your posts.
My name is Audrey Leighton Rogers, I am style editor for the Durham University newspaper and was wondering if you could take a look at my blog-
frassy-audrey.blogspot.com and let me know what you think?
It would be great if we could exchange links and could feature each other on our blogs? I am looking to improve my readership and I’m sure you wouldn’t mind an increase in readers either!
Anyway keep up the amazing work, and get back to me when you can!
Thanks,
Audrey Leighton Rogers

it's wrong to borrow other's inspiration without giving them credit. hmm.... but her apt looks so lofty and cool.
Inspired isn't the right word, here. Not when the theft is so blatant, and shameless. No wonder she can afford a spacious apartment. It looks like quite a "steal".
Oh I saw some pics of her apartment on another blog. Great space she has there.
Erin usually seems like such a cool person but I guess you never know what kinds of things a person will do to achieve success. Using someone else's idea as her own is very wrong.
erin's flat looks good and cute !! really confortable ! lucky models
all that money and she still throws a dirty old scarf over a lamp shade...such a shame!
oh and lets not for get the scandal of her necklace knock-off...double shame!
i loved it, too. xo
I have been digging Bliss Lau for a while but have yet to buy anything; this may just be my tipping point!!
What a wonderful space . . . and those boots!!
xoxox,
CC
I think it's okay to borrow a bit and be inspired by other pieces, but in this case I think Erin has taken it a bit too far. as you say, you can easily see that these two pieces of jewelry are far too similar. After looking at Erin's original and fun appartment, I would have expected her to come up with something stylish and "her own".
xxx
I liked her alot, really I did because her style is so original. But after learning about this, I don't feel like she is someone to respect as a style icon. My opinion.
i love the SELBY...easily one of the best blogs ever!
i think she's fantastic. i'm going with "lily" on this one...maybe she honestly forgot having seen/purchased/modeled the necklace and thought the idea was pseudo celestial inspiration.
it happens to the best of us! her mistake was getting caught ; )
to support my comment let me quote Voltaire and Benjamin Franklin...
“Originality is the art of concealing your sources”
- Benjamin Franklin
“Originality is nothing by judicious imitation. The most original writers borrowed one from another.”
- Voltaire
uhg I would love to have a spacious apt like that!
Let's not judge when there is so much to covet! Oh those brick walls.
I love what she (or her interior designer) did to her wall! :D
Saw her in Bondi during Aust Fashion Week last year - she just looked like a normal (very thin) beach girl but nothing WOW! I was suprised!
