Wow, um, first there was Lou Doillon looking both fierce and ferosh in Playboy France, now Anouck. Are all the fashion geeks out there going to start reading Playboy.... for the editorial? oh... and the eyeliner, so dope...

Mean Magazine: Kate as Anna

Kate Beckinsale as French New Wave babe Anna Karina. Chances are, if you are already familiar with this movie you may have spent time in film school taking Citizen Kane classes and discussing Terrence Malick films and of course, carrying on about Italian Neo-Realism vs. the French New Wave (ok, I guess that was mostly me and like 100 of my friends in college, great, a lot of good that did). Anyway, if you are or were a film geek at any point, you would probably agree that .... even though Kate looks lovely, she is missing that 60's French vixen who is sultry purely by accident thing that Anna has ..... team Anna!

Tagged.... by .V

1) What was I doing 10 years ago?
I have a hard time remembering large blocks of the 90's.
2) What are 5 things on my to-do list for today:
1. Find and book San Francisco hotel.
2. Make pattern for pants drawn last week on Dunkin Donuts napkin.
3. Dry cleaning. (I know, riveting.)
4. Dinner at 9 at Monsieur Vuong's. Yum.
3) Snacks I enjoy:
Cake!!! Macarons, Green Tea Mochi Ice Cream, Wasabi Peas, Chocolate Bread (from Balthazar), Fruit of all sorts.

4) Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
Pay this kid's college tuition. (You can watch the full Frontline documentary here.)
Get a walk-in shoe closet... something along these lines just a lot less pink and gold and a lot better shoes (this one belongs to Mariah).
Help animals.
Wear lots and lots of Givenchy of course..
5) Places I have lived before:
Brooklyn, NY. (Although the part I come from is certainly not as sweet as the sign would have you believe).
Every neighborhood in downtown Manhattan except for Wall St & Tribeca.

Let Them Eat Cake

Pardon my absence these last few days, I was back home in NYC visiting friends and family and enjoying stuff that is big, wasteful and has lots of corn syrup.
My latest find is the lovely "Let Them Eat Cake" magazine. What can be more fun than cake, fierce shoes and picnicking in frilly dresses? Nothing.

Dazed & Confused June 2008

Model: Aline Weber
Photographer: Mariano Vivanco
... taking the cute out of the florals for spring trend. They tried to bring back 40's Hollywood glamor hair & make up but we said no, no, no. The Nina Ricci S/S08 hair and make up looks so much more current. Great cover.
