Post Christmas Shopping: Pixie Market

I just came across Pixie Market and I am absolutely taken with what they have in stock. The tour de force, the above dress by Trout Pout may very well be the most perfect New Year's eve dress I could ever imagine wearing. Plus, any boutique that has such a large variety of jodhpurs to choose from definitely merits further investigation and bonus points for the awesome styling.

Merry Christmas to you all, I wish you health, happiness and that piece from THAT Balmain collection finds its way to your closet. Hope you don't get an eggnog hangover, that your family members don't get on your nerves too much and ask those horrid probing questions about your educational/matrimonial/reproductive plans, that you get everything on your wish list and a gift receipt was included with those things that didn't quite float your boat.

Today's post gave all the tFS'ers out there a head's up...... tons of models out there read The Fashion Spot, so if you have some strong feelings about a campaign or a particular model, say it. They love to read their own model thread and use it as a way of seeing editorials that they haven't gotten a hold of yet, just remember ... no model talk in the wrong place or your comment will get d e l e t e d. On a less festive note.... I had a pretty bad accident yesterday and cut my hand in 2 places. I'll spare everyone the grossness and just say ... beware of hand blenders. I spent most of yesterday in the emergency room which is always a treat. When all this business heals I'll be fine but the really truly disappointing part of the whole thing is that for the next 2 weeks my hand will be in a cast and I do not have very good use of it which means that I probably won't have anything in my shop until after Christmas. The horror. I will still make a few attempts at sewing and possibly enlist some help. The most irritating part of this whole incident is that since my arrival back in NY about 10 days ago, I completely focused on setting up a makeshift studio while the rest of my things are being shipped via cargo container from Germany. I bought everything, a work table, sewing machine, serger and fabric. The Crosby Dress pieces have already been cut out and my new sewing machine arrived yesterday while I was in the hospital. The moral of the story is a) stay away from hand blenders and b) my shop update while happen later that I want it to but fashion is pain so maybe I will master sewing with one hand after all . Sowy ....

Left: Don't I look totally thrilled for some reason? ... while waiting for the hand surgeon to arrive. My husband, who bought and iPhone about 5 minutes after we landed in NYC was good enough to document my little "incident" very throughly. He may have been live blogging it on his own blog. Why I am laughing? Obviously I am very excited about that awesome blue gown, total fierceness.
Right: The hand surgeon who is sort of the bomb and sewed up all that nasty stuff and reassembled my hand.
