And there you have it, the full Vain & Vapid summer 2011 lookbook. It was a blast to shoot. I feel very fortunate to have had such a great team of people to work with. It's always a pleasure working with Alana, I feel like we have worked together so many times that we developed a great working rhythm.
I designed the majority pieces in this collection with the idea of having something that can easily go from day to night. I always love the idea of having something that feels right in a lot of different circumstances with just a small adjustment to the styling. The first group posted yesterday was styled more casually and this second group, while styled more aggressively can also find it's way into the daily wardrobe (well, everything but the last dress unless you are ADR..... ). Sourcing the fabrics was a painstaking process this time around, I was very determined to find the most interesting prints in the best quality that suited the mood of this collection and did sort of struggle with my natural inclination of making everything in black. Check out more of the shots from that day here.
*Many thanks to Wix Lounge for lending us their beautiful space, it was our favorite location thus far from all the lookbooks we have shot and their staff couldn't have been nicer. Plus it's open to the public if you need a break or you find yourself in Chelsea and want a quiet, lofty place to work. How great is that?
